Hemp & Cannabis opportunities explored in white paper
Commercial opportunities to create products from excess plant biomass generated by the industrial hemp and medicinal cannabis industries have been explored in a new white paper from The Bioresource Processing Alliance (BPA).
‘Commercial Options for Whole Plant Utilisation - Industrial Hemp & Medicinal Cannabis’ is a collaborative paper from the BPA’s members. It seeks to understand where opportunities exist to create new products from specific parts of hemp and cannabis plants that could contribute millions in additional revenue to the industries.
Examples include nutraceuticals from compounds extracted from the flowers, geotextiles from the seeds, building materials from the fibre, butters from the roots, and many more.
